Astaxanthin 10% oil is a dark-red oleoresin intended for oil-phase applications such as softgel fills, oil-based nutritional products, and cosmetic formulations. Unlike powder grades, it is better suited to systems that require direct dispersion in an oil carrier.
The 10% oil specification sets measurable quality controls instead of offering only a general description of carotenoid content. By UV analysis, astaxanthin content is ≥10.0%; moisture is capped at ≤6%, and ash at ≤5%. Controls also cover arsenic, lead, mercury, cadmium, total plate count, yeast and mould, as well as specified pathogenic microorganisms.
Because astaxanthin is light-sensitive, it should stay in its original unopened package, away from light, heat, and humidity. Before quotation, labeling, and production, buyers should confirm whether they need 5% oil, 10% oil, or a powder grade.
