Chondroitin Sulfate CPC90 is more than a generic cartilage powder. On a dry basis, this grade is controlled to an assay of at least 90.0% under the CPC method. Its published specification covers bovine-origin material; chicken, porcine, and fish-source versions may be considered separately based on market, labeling, and formulation requirements.

With 90% passing through an 80-mesh screen, the material meets a particle-size requirement that supports more consistent blending in capsule, tablet, and powder systems. Its bulk density of at least 0.60 g/mL also matters for capsule filling and premix handling, giving buyers a basis for assessing dosing consistency and equipment compatibility.

The specification sets a protein limit of 6.0%, controls specific rotation within −20° to −30°, and includes USP identification tests for both the infrared spectrum and sodium. Together, these requirements give purchasers a clearer basis for selection than relying solely on the material’s “joint care” positioning.
