Overview

Dichloromethane boils at approximately 39.6°C, so it can be removed and recovered quickly in extraction, resin processing, and coating operations. The specification also sets limits for trace impurities rather than simply labeling the solvent as 99.9% pure: moisture must be ≤0.01%, acidity, measured as HCl, ≤0.0004%, APHA color ≤10, and evaporated residue ≤0.0005%.

The batch results offer a clear basis for purchasing: purity reached 99.99%, moisture was 0.0042%, acidity was not detected, color measured APHA 5, and evaporated residue was 0.0001%. That minimal residue can matter downstream, especially where leftover solids, water, or discoloration might affect extraction, cleaning, coating, or solvent recovery. Store the sealed drums in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, separated from heat, ignition sources, and incompatible materials. Use suitable PPE and control vapors while handling the product.
